Application of AE Technique in Coal and Gas Outburst Prediction

To counter the unreliable problem of gas outburst prediction in the working face by conventional means in Xinyi Coal Mine，in this paper，analysis was carried out on the characteristics of coal and gas disaster，and the AE continuous prediction technique was used for the on－site monitoring of coal and gas outburst，through analysis，the correspounding relationship between the AE signal indices and the abnormal dynamic phenomena was obtained，the reasonable identifying and early－warning characteristic parameters for the hazard occurred in the working face were determined，and the critical value of the sensitive indicators of AE prediction was given．The comprehensive verification application of the AE indices with other indices was conducted in Xinyi Coal Mine，and the results showed that the application of AE technique can more acurately predict the coal－rock dynamic disaster mainly led by strata stress in advance．
