Application of Directional Drilling Technology in Water Control in Shendong Coal Mining Area

To counter the problems in the detection and control of gob water, floor water and roof water in coal mines in Shendong Coal Mining Area, the directional drilling technology was proposed for detecting various water disasters. This paper analyzed the features of the directional drilling technology and compared it with the conventional drilling technologyies. It emphatically described the applications of the directional drilling technology in detecting the roadway driving and small coal pit boundary in Halagou and Daliuta Mines, the abnormal floor water in the working face in Baode Mine and the roof water in Halagou Mine in Shendong Coal Mining Area.
