Pipeline Experimental Study on Suppression of Gas Explosion by Explosion Proof Water Curtain

In order to effectively reduce the occurrence of gas explosion accidents and reduce their destructive capacity, an experimental pipeline system for the suppression of gas explosion by the explosion proof water curtain was developed. Through the experimental system, comparative experiments were conducted on the effect of explosion proof water curtain under different conditions that with or without water curtain, different gas concentration and different water flow, the barrier effect of water curtain on gas explosion was studied.The results showed that the water curtain has a good barrier effect. The best effect is achieved when the gas concentration is 9.5% and the nozzle water flow is 16.4 L/min.
