Abstract
For more accurate description of the flow field form of the forced ventilation system for roadway heading and in view of the limitation of the traditional "contact" measurement method for the flow field of the forced ventilation, the "non-contact" 2D experimental measurement of flow field in the heading face was conducted by using the particle image velocimetry (PIV). An experimental forced ventilation model for roadway heading was established according to the proportion of 1:15 to the actual cross-section of the roadway, and based on the underground conditions, the air duct was hung in the center of the model tunnel side-wall, and experimental tests were made on the the flow field passing through the horizontal and vertical sections of the air duct axis. The experimental results showed that the PIV system could be used to accurately measure the complex flow field, and the instantaneous and time-averaged flow state of the flow field could be got, this thus provided the reliable experimental basis for the research of the flow field characteristics of the forced heading ventilation and dust prevention in the heading face.
