Abstract
The normal fault of coal seam bred by multi-stage tectonic movement has a significant impact on gas occurrence in Guhanshan Minefield. Using mine geological data and measured gas data, the influence mechanism of faults on the difference of gas occurrence between the east and west of the mine was studied, and the control mechanism of Chizhuang Fault on gas occurrence in the east of the mine field was analyzed. The results show that the gas occurrence in the eastern part of Guhanshan Minefield is mainly controlled by the Tuanxiang Fault and Chizhuang Fault. The main reason why the gas content in the eastern part of the Minefield is overall lower than that in the western part of the mine field is that the Tuanxiang Fault controls the thin thickness of the overlying bedrock in the eastern part of the mine field. The primary causes for the lowest gas content in the Dong-1 near the Chizhuang Fault are that gas migrate and discharge through the coal seam outcrop formed by the Chizhuang Fault and the moderately permeable Paleogene-Neogene and Quaternary strata on the hanging wall of Chizhuang Fault, combined with the thin thickness of the overlying bedrock caused by Tuanxiang Fault. The combined effect of the Chizhuang Fault and burial depth controls the occurrence of coal seam gas in the eastern part of the mine field. The c+loser to the Chizhuang Fault and the shallower the burial depth, the lower the gas content. And the deeper the depth, the narrower the width of the fault gas discharge impact zone of the fault is. In the eastern part of the mine field, the Chizhuang Fault mainly controls the gas occurrence of the Dong-1 area and has little effect on the Dong-2 area.
