Numerical simulation of cyclone separation technology for dry drilling dust removal

  • In this paper, the cyclone dust collector was taken as the research object, and the geometric model was established. FLUENT was used to analyze the collection rate of the cyclone dust collector. The relationship between the height of the cyclone dust collector, the resistance, the inlet wind speed and the dust collection rate was obtained. Based on the results of numerical simulation, the prototype of cyclone dust collector was designed, and the relationship between its parameters and filtration efficiency was verified. Finally, the process parameters of cyclone dust collector were obtained. The results show that the optimal cylinder height is 1.5 times the diameter of the cylinder; the inlet wind speed is 15 m/s; the simulated collection rate is 82.47% and the resistance is 500.76 Pa. The filter efficiency of experimental cyclone dust collector is 80.22% and the resistance is 494.6 Pa, which is similar to the numerical simulation results.
