Similar simulation study on the flow field structure and the law of dust settlement of heading roadway

  • In order to study the mechanism of the influence of the flow field structure on the law of dust migration in heading roadway, based on the theory of gas-solid two-phase flow and similarity theory, a similar experimental model of press-in ventilation in heading roadway is constructed in this paper. By using the FLUENT software and similar experimental platform of heading roadway, the numerical simulation and experimental study of air flow field and dust migration are carried out. The influence of flow field characteristics on dust migration and settlement under the condition of press-in ventilation is analyzed. The results show that the average air speed of the model roadway ranges from 0.66 m/s to 2.62 m/s in the condition that the similarity criterion is satisfied in the simulation experiment; after breaking away from the working face, the dust moves with the air flow to the rear of the roadway, most of the dust diffuses behind the fully mechanized excavator, and part of the fine dust is captured by the vortex flow structure near the fully mechanized excavator; the particles with larger size settle and accumulate within 3 m to 5 m from the end of the heading face. With the increase of the distance from the end of working face, the particle size of the settling dust gradually becomes smaller and the distribution becomes more evenly.
