Comprehensive control technology of spontaneous combustion disaster in adjacent goaf in fully mechanized caving face with small coal pillar

  • In view of the problems of large air leakage and large residual coal in adjacent goaf in fully mechanized caving face with small coal pillars, which are easy to cause spontaneous combustion of residual coal in goaf. This paper put forward a comprehensive control technology of spontaneous combustion disaster in goaf, which was composed of spontaneous combustion observation system of goaf, reinforcement and plugging of small coal pillar and pouring in organic fire prevention and fire extinguishing materials into goaf.The engineering practice was carried out in adjacent goaf in 81303 fully mechanized caving face of No.1 Mine in Yangquan Coal Group. The results show that, after adopting the comprehensive control technology of spontaneous combustion disaster based on small coal pillar reinforcement and grouting in goaf, the temperature of residual coal and the volume fraction of CO in goaf decreases obviously, in which the temperature of the 3# observation hole decreases from 35.1℃ to 25.2℃, and the volume fraction of CO decreases from 3.7×10-5 to 1.2×10-5, which effectively eliminates the hidden danger of spontaneous combustion in goaf and ensures the production safety of 81303 fully mechanized caving face.
