Research status and advances in comprehensive dust control technologies for road transportation in open-pit mines

To address core challenges in dust control for open-pit mine road transportation,including high vehicle mobility, variable road conditions,and complex dust generation mechanisms,this study aims to establish a scientifically sound and efficient integrated control system while exploring future development directions. The research elucidates the wind-vehicle coupled dust generation mechanism, summarizes four primary dust suppression principles—wetting and agglomeration, adhesion and consolidation,coalescence and sedimentation,and physical barrier—and outlines road transportation dust control technologies based on the “source suppression-process control” logic. The study identifies current limitations including difficulties in implementing closed-loop management, insufficient precision management capabilities, inadequate adaptability of single technologies to diverse scenarios,insufficient depth of multi-technology coordination,and weak intelligent support systems. The study proposes future directions:establishing a precision management system driven by digital twins and big data,achieving a shift from passive response to proactive prevention;optimizing individual technology modules in a targeted manner;and deepening research into synergistic mechanisms and cross-technology intelligent control. The findings provide a systematic theoretical reference and technical guidance for in-depth dust control and green mine development,driving dust management from “single-method dust reduction” towards an integrated “intelligent,digital,and green” framework.
